There are lobsters invading Halifax. Inspired by Orcas in Vancouver, the brainiacs working for the city decided it might be a good idea to have 6-ft tall ugly ugly sculptures of cartoon lobsters. And there are apparently fifty of them!!! It's going to be a mission of mine to take pictures of all of them in order to capture and share the horror. So, ummm, enjoy.
For an idea of perspective, here's a picture of me next to the lobster found in the Alderney Ferry terminal
This one is on the corner of Spring Garden and Barrington (two of the busier and classier streets in Halifax.
My favourite so far is the "Rock" lobster sponsored by the classic rock station Q104 - a sister station of CHOM
You can't see very well, but there's a rendering of Hendrix and Bono and some other rockstar. All in all, they are a very compelling attraction. More to come in subsequent days and weeks.

Ummm,... I don't think I'm getting married now. Unless you want to tell me something, Mo. Perhaps you have some sort of *cough* proposal *cough* for me?

I'm assuming that they put the lobsters up in high traffic areas, or at least what used to be high traffic areas (for Halifax) until those monstrosities showed up. The pictures are a nice touch.
