It's OK, I'm a Chemist

One of the things I love about Halifax is the outdoor food. Growing up in Montreal, a city where it is easier to get a handjob than a hotdog on the street, I rarely had the opportunity to enjoy the pleasure of food carts. Summer is soon upon us (though it takes longer to come here than Montreal) and I'm looking forward to the return of Bud the Spud and all the food vendors that are going to be flooding the main streets of the Fax. One of my favourite things to do during the summer is to go to Spring Garden library, buy some fries from Bud the Spud and watch people as they go by on their merry way.

One of my good friends, Adrian Davis (nephew of Centennial's old principal Mr. Davis), was drafted last week by the Montreal Alouettes in the 4th round. In total, five of my former teammates from Vanier College got drafted this past year (the highest selection was Shawn Mayne in the 3rd round by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats). Just wanted to say congratulations to them all. Also, in case anyone is curious about Guillaume, he's still in med school at Emory University. His old roommate at Tennessee, Jason Witten, made the Pro Bowl this year and flew Guillaume out to Hawaii with him. Apparently, Joe Theismann is a weird dude when he drinks.

I still have 3 more months left here in Halifax. The thought of leaving the friends I've made here is getting kinda sad but I look forward to being home during the month of August and then off to Vancouver. On the brightside, Wilco is coming to Halifax in July to play a show at Alderney Gate (where I saw Joel Plaskett last year on my birthday). Should be an awesome show - especially since it's an outdoor venue.

  • I had no idea that Adrian dude was Mr. Davis's nephew. Congrats to him and all the others.

  • It seems redundant at this point but... I love anticipating the scarlett pic. It's the hilight of my day.
