Here are some of the pictures I've taken with my digital camera. Most of them are of my apartment, just to prove to y'all that I'm truly living like a king (oh, and there's a picture of Theodore the Tugboat).

One of my goals of coming out to Halifax was to use this year as a time for self-improvement. Learn how to cook and drive. Get back into shape. Read good books and learn about wine. Almost two months in and I've accomplished none of these. I'm not really feeling regret over lost time though because there has been an adjustment period when other needs (such as shelter and clothing) took priority. I think over the next few months though, I should be well on my way towards those goals. Hey, I've already lost some weight though -- but that has more to do with my cooking than with exercise.

I went to the Rodin exhibit last weekend. Saw some great sculptures (a lot of them fairly erotic - well as erotic as cold stone gets). There was one of Balzac holding onto his "member" (the museum's word, not mine). Anyways, there was this mom walking around the exhibit and reading the description that come with each of the sculptures to her kids. I could barely contain my enjoyment to watch her read that description and then clam right up when she got to the line where they mention his member. It was well worth the $4 I paid to get in.

Tonight, I'm going to the Clay Cafe with Gillian. I think I'm getting in over my head if she can convince me to go paint pottery as a night out. Ahh, the sacrifices we make for pretty ladies... (To be fair, I am dragging her to a football game next month).

Update!!!

Here are some pictures taken with my brand spanking new digital camera. Expect more to come

It's been about a month and a half that I've lived in Halifax and I have never experienced more rain in my life than I have since moving here... and fog. The more time I spend here, the more Halifax reminds me of Montreal. It's an old city like Montreal, though the architecture is different. It has a large student populations with three major universities in downtown (Dalhousie, SMU, Mount St-Vincent). It's a major port city much like Montreal. There are quite a few churches here.. and bars... and terraces (or, as the locals like to call them, patios).

The people as a whole are friendly and helpful. I especially appreciate how everyone holds the door for the next person coming through. Quite a few times I've had to half-jog to the door because someone was holding it for me even though I was more than a few feet away.

My co-workers are a good bunch of people (mostly girls). In fact, I've already been invited to a wedding this July! It sounds like it should be a real good time. They really have taken to me it seems, maybe because I'm a good-looking guy in a company which has a lack of them. In fact, we all went out this past Friday to the Pogue Fado (Irish pub by day/swinging singles bar by night) to celebrate the birthday of the bride-to-be.

I've met a girl here (well more than one to be honest...) - but one in particular. She's the little sister of the person who trained me (the bride-to-be). We've been hanging out for a little more than a week now and it's been great, really great. Before the first date, I was real quiet about the whole thing at work, but as it turned out, Shannon - the older sister - knew about the whole thing and thought it was funny that I was being so stealth about it.

I know this post has been pretty boring, but I wanted to get you guys caught up on what I've been up to. I'm thinking of getting a digital camera so I can show you guys my living arrangement, and the sights of Halifax (like Theodore the Tugboat).
